Once you’re booked in, we’ll send out a welcome pack that summarises the key information you’ll need. Broadly speaking, bring a record of all income and expenses for the tax year. New clients will also need to bring proof of identity and their tax file number (TFN). It is also helpful to bring last year’s tax return to your appointment.
Contact us for a detailed checklist if that’s something you would find helpful.

Yes, we’d love to. Take the first step of reaching out to us for support. We are able to communicate with the ATO on your behalf, assist with getting lodgments up to date, and help establish a suitable repayment plan if needed.

Individual clients will usually be issued with an invoice once their work is completed.
For our business clients, we encourage monthly billing. Our invoices have 14 day terms.
Payment can be made via EFT or through online card payments using a trusted third party provider - Pinch Payments.
Direct Debit (also known as Pre-approval) can also be set up through Pinch Payments.
As discussed below, we also offer flexible payment terms and hopefully a compassionate response to those who need it.

Great question! It’s hard to give an accurate answer here. TwJ uses a combination of service-based and time-based billing. So, while a base individual tax return may be $200+GST, a more complex return requiring more expertise and more time will obviously cost more.
For business clients, we recommend a monthly billing arrangement based on the level of service required rather than being strictly time-based.
Yes - the fees will be tax deductible in next year’s tax return! Please get in touch with us if you would like to get a more accurate picture of fees for your engagement.
We commit to:
Discussing fees upfront, and maintaining transparency throughout the engagement
Providing great value for money
Offering discounted fees, flexible payment options, and other options that meet your unique needs wherever possible

We’re big Xero fans! In saying that, if you or your business uses different software, that’s fine too.
We’ll find a way to get the information we need out of your software and into ours.

You’re in the right place.
Jono has been an accountant for over 10 years. During that time, he trained and worked as a financial counsellor with The Salvation Army. Financial counsellors are qualified professionals who provide information, advice and advocacy to people in financial difficulty.
He saw the negative impact that a person’s financial situation can bring to their whole wellbeing, but also their resilience as they were able to bounce back through the challenges that life threw at them.
He also went through his own mental health challenges - unwanted firsthand experience of anxiety and depression - and a reminder that none of us can get through life alone.
As a financial counsellor, Jono saw how often there was an unmet need for taxation support. That’s why he completed further studies in 2022 to become a Registered Tax Agent and started working with the UNSW Tax and Business Advisory Clinic in providing free, independent and confidential tax advice and business support to those who otherwise would not be able to access it.
Tax with Jono is uniquely positioned to support clients because we are a Tax and Accounting business that is shaped by the financial counselling model.
We are interested in genuine connections with our clients. We understand that everyone has a different story to tell and everyone’s financial situation is different.
We believe in the power of listening to a client’s story, working holistically to support them in setting and achieving their goals. Most of all, we strive to relieve a client’s stress and have some fun along the way.

Accountants pride themselves on knowing a little bit about a lot, and TwJ is no different!
